Every so often I read something that really hits it on the nail. The January 25th blog post from my cousin, David Shorten, is one of them. Granted I may be partial to his blog in general, but I believe you will find it as insightful as I did and I strongly encourage you to check it out! Here are a few excerpts from the January 25th post.
…I hate that it’s called the sinner’s prayer. Last I checked, after you say the sinner’s prayer, you’re still a sinner. Which makes every subsequent prayer a sinner’s prayer.
A prayer does not bring forth a new creation; the new creation is demonstrated by a prayer of repentance to and faith in God.
